I have found it fruitful to reflect on my thoughts and seek to understand them. So, I turn to Jesus in prayer. Jesus can provide me with other thoughts and related actions that comfort me and give me greater desires for love, kindness and service to others. Willful sins by their nature affect my relationship with Jesus or others. Seeing this and prayerfully seeking other ways of love in Jesus is very helpful.
