So many, many times Jesus has washed and cleaned my life. Daily silent time prayer gives me a opportunity to be present to Jesus. It cleanses my soul. I can come as I am. I am healed and loved. Scripture gives me a mirror to look at my life. Is it well? Am I well? If not, I can wash myself in the pool of the endless of love of Jesus through humble prayer. God is so very good!
We must all go to be with others to help us wash and keep clean our souls. Community is where we find the Grace to love and forgive. Our local parish community gives us the companionship we need to become whole in Jesus Christ.
The Scripture is a like a mirror for our souls. In this mirror, I can see the condition of my life. Am I living the Way of Jesus? What do I need to do differently? It helps me become the loving child of Jesus Christ. Scripture is God’s gift to us all!
The Scripture nourishes me daily. I read and reflect on the words of Jesus. I pray the Psalms. The readings of the day guide me. On Sunday, I hear the readings and drink in the reflections on the reading from the homilist. Scripture can be our live giving guide and help us find the heart of our faith in Jesus Christ.
We all need spiritual practices to thrive in our daily journey with Jesus. Meditating, reading and praying are all a part of a daily discipline for love, hope and joy. Daily meditation in silence and on Scripture is foundational to listening to God. Reading Scripture and other spiritual works helps us reflect and learn about our faith and our journey. Prayer throughout my day is the glue that holds all of the practices together. Prayer is presence through word, mind and deed to God and to others. Go deep into your spiritual practices. They give life!
Morning meditation, meal prayers, journaling, the Examen, and many other small and larger ways of being available to Jesus brings me closer to him. I must let go of my agendas and wishlists. Just being present to Jesus, transforms my moments.
Psalm 23 gives my soul comfort. I will walk in dark valleys and can be assured I am safe. The Lord walk with me and protects me. This does provide my so much joy and assurance. May I rest always in this knowledge.
Finding my home in Jesus is how to find joy in everyday life. I find rest in Jesus. I find hope in Jesus. I find my strength in my times of need in Jesus. Many times I feel down and unsure. I find my life energy waining. Jesus gives me rest and hope and joy!
I see so much evidence of God in my life. If I will only pause to see it, it will nourish me. God has given me amazing people who love and serve me. I am asked to the same for so many others. Whether they be many or even one today moment today, I am to let God’s Grace be present in my life.
God gives us spiritual gifts freely. The gifts of prayer, contemplation, wisdom, service to others, compassion, and so many more. All gifts can be spiritual gifts if we use them with the mind of Christ. I am humbled and thankful for all the gifts I have received -and will yet still receive!
