Mystery and intimacy mark us as mystics who love God and others. God is love and it is no wonder that we seek the face of God in Jesus. We as humans find it hard to love a concept. We more naturally love a real person. Jesus is just that - a real person whom we can love as God. What a gift us Christians have in the person of Jesus to love!
Mystics Find Silence
As a mystic, it is important to develop an approach that gives you space for silence. In today’s world of distractions, it is sometimes very difficult to get away from the noise and attractive signals from all sorts of media. We have phones and screens everywhere. But, to find God, we must listen. Often that voice is a still small voice. We will not likely hear it if we are constantly stimulated. Find your places of silence if you want to be open to the mystery of our God.
It’s a new year.
It’s a new year to adore our Lord. Each day is a gift - as is a new year. Let’s commit to seeking to spend time with Jesus. It is in the mystery of His presence that we find our joy and hope. As catholic mystics we should strive to be with Our Lord and to be present each moment of our days. This is where will find our mission and our opportunity to both serve and find our Lord.
